What are the Limitations of the Kirby Bauer Method?
Despite its widespread use, the Kirby Bauer Method has some limitations. It is not suitable for all types of bacteria, especially those that grow slowly. Additionally, the method does not provide information about the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of an antibiotic, which can sometimes be necessary for precise treatment planning.
