What are the Educational Requirements for Becoming a CRNA?
Becoming a CRNA requires extensive education and training. First, one must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or a related field. After earning a BSN, the next step is to become a licensed registered nurse (RN). Following this, at least one year of experience in a critical care setting is typically required. The aspiring CRNA must then complete a graduate program in nurse anesthesia, which usually takes 2-3 years. These programs award a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia.
