Capillary refill time (CRT) is a simple yet effective method for evaluating circulatory status. To perform the test, press down on the patient's nail bed until it turns white, then release. Measure the time it takes for the color to return to normal. A CRT of less than 2 seconds is generally considered normal. A prolonged CRT may indicate poor perfusion, which could be due to shock, dehydration, or other conditions.
