A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who has completed graduate-level education (either a Master's or Doctoral degree). NPs are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, formulate and prescribe treatment plans. They provide a blend of nursing and healthcare services to patients and can work in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, and private practices.
