A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who has completed advanced coursework and clinical education beyond that required of a registered nurse (RN). NPs have a broader scope of practice compared to RNs and can perform tasks such as diagnosing and treating medical conditions, prescribing medications, and managing patient care.
