What is the Role of Palpation in Vascular Assessment?
Palpation is used to assess the presence and quality of arterial pulses. Common sites include the radial, brachial, femoral, popliteal, posterior tibial, and dorsalis pedis arteries. The absence of a pulse or a weak pulse may indicate an obstruction or narrowing of the artery. Palpation also helps in identifying any unusual lumps or aneurysms.
