Prazosin is a medication primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha-adrenergic blockers, which work by relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. Prazosin is also used off-label for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), particularly for the management of nightmares.
