The high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) is a type of respiratory support that delivers a high flow of heated and humidified oxygen through nasal prongs. It is used to treat patients with acute respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other conditions requiring respiratory support. HFNC can deliver up to 60 liters per minute of oxygen, which is significantly higher than traditional nasal cannulas.
