What Educational Pathways and Certifications are Needed?
To become an L&D nurse, one must first obtain a nursing degree (ADN or BSN) and pass the NCLEX-RN to become a licensed registered nurse (RN). Additional certifications, such as the Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certifications, can enhance a nurse's qualifications and expertise in the field.
