APRNs must first obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and become licensed Registered Nurses (RNs). Following this, they must complete a graduate-level program (Master's or Doctorate) specific to their chosen APRN role. Certification and licensure are also required, often involving passing a national exam and meeting state-specific requirements.
