What Education and Experience are Required for Nursing Managers?
Typically, nursing managers hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Many also pursue advanced degrees such as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA). In addition to formal education, substantial clinical experience is essential. Leadership training and certifications, such as the Nurse Executive certification offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), are also beneficial.
