A tumor is an abnormal growth of cells that can occur in any part of the body. Tumors can be classified as benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). While benign tumors generally grow slowly and do not spread to other parts of the body, malignant tumors are more aggressive and can metastasize, or spread, to other tissues and organs.
