Despite its advantages, KOH preparation has some limitations:
Non-Specific: Cannot differentiate between different types of fungi. Requires Expertise: Accurate interpretation requires experience in identifying fungal elements. False Negatives: May miss fungi if the sample is inadequate or improperly prepared.
