Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who have completed graduate-level education (either a Master’s or Doctoral degree) and have advanced clinical training beyond their initial professional registered nurse preparation. NPs are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, formulate and prescribe treatment plans.
