When Should Nurses Use Personal Protective Equipment?
Nurses should use PPE when there is a potential exposure to blood, body fluids, secretions, excretions, mucous membranes, or non-intact skin. PPE should also be used during procedures that generate splashes or sprays of blood or body fluids.
