Accreditation ensures that a nursing program meets established standards of quality and rigor. Accredited programs are recognized by licensing boards and employers, and graduates from these programs are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam for licensure. Two main accrediting bodies are the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
