What is the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR)?
The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that focuses on funding and conducting research to improve patient care and health outcomes. Established by Congress in 1985, NINR aims to support and promote research that builds the scientific foundation for clinical practice, prevents disease and disability, manages and eliminates symptoms caused by illness, and enhances end-of-life and palliative care.
