Kangaroo Care refers to the practice of holding a preterm or low birth-weight infant skin-to-skin on a parent’s chest. This method was first introduced in Colombia in the 1970s as a way to improve care for preterm infants in resource-limited settings. It has since become a globally recognized practice endorsed by various health organizations.
