HCAHPS is a national, standardized survey developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to gauge patients' perspectives on hospital care. The survey consists of 29 questions, focusing on various aspects of the patient experience, including communication with nurses and doctors, the responsiveness of hospital staff, pain management, communication about medicines, discharge information, cleanliness, and the quietness of the hospital environment.
