What are the Roles and Responsibilities of a Maternal Newborn Nurse?
Maternal newborn nurses have a multitude of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Prenatal Care: Monitoring the health of the mother and fetus during pregnancy through regular check-ups, ultrasounds, and diagnostic tests. - Labor and Delivery: Assisting during labor and delivery by providing support, administering medications, and monitoring the progress of labor. - Postpartum Care: Offering care and education to new mothers on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
