What Are the Challenges in Implementing Clinical Practice Guidelines?
Despite their benefits, implementing CPGs can be challenging. Barriers include resistance to change, lack of awareness or familiarity with the guidelines, and limited resources. Organizational culture and support from leadership play a critical role in overcoming these challenges. Additionally, the guidelines may need to be adapted to address specific patient populations or settings, which can be resource-intensive.
