How Does ITT Analysis Differ from Per-Protocol Analysis?
Per-Protocol (PP) analysis, in contrast to ITT, includes only those participants who completed the study according to the protocol. While PP analysis can provide insights into the efficacy of an intervention under ideal conditions, it may introduce bias due to the exclusion of non-compliant participants or those lost to follow-up. Therefore, ITT is generally preferred for maintaining the integrity of the randomization process and providing a more comprehensive view of the intervention's effectiveness in typical clinical practice.
