Pool lifts typically consist of a seat or sling that is attached to a mechanical arm. The user is secured in the seat, and with the help of a nurse or caregiver, the lift is operated to lower the individual into the pool. Once in the water, the user can enjoy water-based exercises or therapies. The process is reversed to exit the pool.
