Physician's orders can be communicated through various means:
Written Orders: These are documented in the patient's medical record. They are often entered into an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for easy access and tracking. Verbal Orders: Given orally, usually in urgent situations. These must be documented as soon as possible by the receiving nurse. Telephone Orders: Given over the phone, often when the physician is not physically present. These also need to be documented immediately.
