Phalen's Test is a diagnostic maneuver used to identify carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). This condition occurs when the median nerve is compressed as it travels through the carpal tunnel in the wrist. The test is named after Dr. George S. Phalen, an American orthopedist who first described it.
